Eye examination
You can rely on us for a thorough check-up! Our eye examinations usually last about 25 minutes, but we will advise you if you require any additional tests and will inform you how long these will take. We provide a standarised check-up for all our patients, but as we like to treat each patient as an individual, out optometrist will tailor the examination to satisfy your specific needs and requirements. The results of your assessment will always be explained to you by the optometrist and you will be given every opportunity to ask questions or raise any concerns that you may have.
We welcome outside prescriptions as well as endorsing NHS guidelines for free sight tests for the following groups:
- If you are under 16
- If you are 60 years old or over
- If you suffer from diabetes or glaucoma
- If you are considered to be at risk of glaucoma by an ophthalmologist
- If you are 40 or over and are the parent/brother/sister/child of a person who has or had glaucoma
We also offer the availability of free and discounted spectacles if you fall into one of the following categories:
- Income support
- Income-based jobseekers’ allowance
